Drilling Contractor Safety Award Program

As a leading drilling industry advocate for safe mineral exploration, geotechnical and environmental drilling operations, the National Drilling Association has instituted a Safety Award Program to recognize its drilling contractor members’ outstanding safety performance. The program allows drilling contractors of similar size to compete for an award based on their incident rates. Safety Award recipients will be honored, each year, at the NDA Annual Convention. Tailgate Safety Tips Video Contest

The challenge is simple, choose a TST and film the talk with your cell phone. The safety committee will view the videos and publish them on YouTube. During this process they will select the top 3 videos of the year and hand out three awards at the NDA Convention.

Harold F. Scott Distinguished Service Award

The Harold F. Scott Distinguished Service Award is a prestigious award presented for lifetime achievement in the drilling industry. The Harold F. Scott Distinguished Service Award recipients, when fitting, will be honored at the NDA Annual Convention.

Eligibility Requirements
To be nominated for the National Drilling Association Harold F. Scott Distinguished Service Award, an individual must meet the following eligibility requirements:

1) Individual must have a minimum of 25 years in the drilling industry as a manufacturer or driller.

2) Individual must have spent at least 10 years as a member of the National Drilling Association and during that time must have spent some duration serving on the board or a committee.

Award Criteria
Individuals who are nominated for this award should be those who have gone above and beyond as a champion of the industry and who have far exceeded all expectations as a leader in the National Drilling Association. All nominations will be reviewed by the National Drilling Association membership committee and board in consideration of the award.

Application Requirements
Each nomination for the NDA Harold F. Scott Distinguished Service Award must meet the following requirements:

1) Submit a completed National Drilling Association Harold F. Scott Distinguished Service Award Nomination Form (with signature).
2) Submit all original application documents to the NDA by June 30th of the year.
3) Nominators can be members, vendors, chapters or individuals.


Golden Driller Award

Golden Driller is a prestigious award and will only be given to individuals in the drilling industry who have met a high standard. Golden Driller Award recipients, when fitting, will be honored at the NDA Annual Convention.

Eligibility Requirements
To be nominated for the National Drilling Association Golden Driller Award, an individual must meet the following eligibility requirements:
1) Individual must have a minimum of 25 years in the drilling industry as a manufacturer or driller.
2) Individual must have spent at least 10 years as a member of the National Drilling Association and during that time must have spent some duration serving on the board or a committee.

Award Criteria
Individuals who are nominated for this award should be those who have made contributions to the drilling industry and to the National Drilling Association. Recipients will have longevity in the drilling industry and set a standard for what the industry represents. All nominations will be reviewed by the National Drilling Association membership committee and board in consideration of the award.

Each nomination for the NDA Golden Driller Award must meet the following requirements:
1) Submit a completed National Drilling Association Golden Driller Award Nomination Form (with signature).
2) Submit all original application documents to the NDA by June 30th of the year.
