George Gillespie currently serves as a Public Awareness / Services Coordinator with the Ohio Utilities Protection Service, DBA, as OHIO811 - the “Call Before You Dig” for the state of Ohio. He has been with O.U.P.S. since 2001, where his responsibilities take him all across Ohio and other states educating and promoting utility damage prevention. He has over 50 years of utility experience.
Lieutenant Alan Ogden
Allen has 28 years on with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and has been assigned to the Office of License and Commercial Standards since January 2001. He has held the rank of Trooper, Sergeant, and Lieutenant within the LCS section.
Frank graduated from Punxsutawney High School and then studied Drafting and Design at the Electronic Institute in Pittsburgh, PA. He has been employed at Hoffman Diamond Products since June of 1969 and is currently Sales Manager for The Geotechnical, Construction and Industrial Products.
Jim Wright is the Corporate Safety Director for Terracon Consultants, Inc. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene. Jim began a career in the drilling industry in 1991 as a project safety officer for safety and environmental monitoring on Superfund sites for an international drilling contractor. This work took him to some of the most highly contaminated sites in the United States. Jim’s position then evolved into managing all aspects of safety, health, environmental and fleet management for worldwide drilling operations. Jim has designed and implemented world class safety systems for drilling operations in the US, Africa, Australia, Mexico, Canada and South America. From remote mineral exploration to high-tech radiation contaminated soil sampling, Jim has made a career of providing industry leading safety programs and a zero accident goal to field crews. Jim is an MSHA certified underground and surface mining instructor; American Red Cross certified infant, child and adult first aid / CPR instructor; OSHA approved 10- and 30-hour construction safety trainer; performance, off-road and Smith SystemÒ driving instructor; and LPSÒ certified instructor. He holds the American Road & Transportation Builders Association Safety Certified Transportation Project Professional certification. Jim currently sits on the National Drilling Association Safety Committee and the National Groundwater Association’s Professional Development, Safety Subcommittee, and was the past Chairperson. He was awarded the 2012 Safety Advocate Award by the National Groundwater Association.
Mr. Mott has a bachelor’s degree in geology from Bowling Green State University, Ohio (86). He is a licensed Professional Geologist in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania and is a licensed monitoring well installer in Kentucky. He has directed and conducted environmental and geotechnical subsurface explorations for over 30 years. He has bee preparing Health and Safety Plans (HASP), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), safety inspections, monitoring, and conducting accident investigations for most of his career. Mr. Mott’s expertise includes drilling and sampling methodologies, geotechnical and environmental instrumentation, electronic data collection, and contaminant chemistry. He has also provided services in drilling inspection, soil and rock classification, field and laboratory testing of soils and rock, and constructability evaluations. He also assists with the coordination and operations of the geotechnical and environmental drilling crews for the company. Mr. Mott is a co-author of a nationally recognized publication: Ohio’s Geology in Core and Outcrop, Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Mr. Steve Larimer is Regional Exploration Manager for the Eastern Midwest Division of Terracon. He supports local Terracon Exploration Offices with safety, quality, professionalism, coordination, and logistics. Steve started his career working on drill rigs as a Field Geologist at DLZ and then later Terracon. He has over 16 years of experience conducting Geotechnical and Environmental Subsurface Site Explorations and has a bachelor’s degree in Geology from Bowling Green State University.
