Drill Helpers and Drillers
(Indiana, Ohio, Alabama)
Environmental Field Services, Inc. (www.envfield.com) is an environmental contracting firm that provides drilling and remedial construction services to environmental firms, industry, and governmental entities throughout the United States. Work is performed in
a construction environment, working around heavy equipment. We travel 5075%, work outdoors in all types of weather, and can be labor intensive.
Responsible for all aspects of the drilling operation, including but not limited to direct push technology soil and groundwater sampling; hollow-stem auger drilling for geotechnical data collection; environmental soil sampling; and monitoring well installation.
Drill Helper and Driller work on equipment when broken down in the field, shovel soil cuttings, move filled drums, saw cutting and work with concrete, and heavy lifting of backfill material.
Driller - Operate hollow-stem auger (CME 55, CME 750) and direct push technology (track and truck-mounted Geoprobes) drilling equipment in a safe and efficient manner to collect subsurface soil, soil gas, and water samples; geotechnical data; and install groundwater monitoring wells.
Some positions learn to operate a variety of equipment: explosion meter, Hnu, laser, concrete saw, jackhammer, drum vacuum, pressure washer, generator, trash pump, fusion welder, cutting torches, welding equipment, air knife, compressor, forklift, skid steer and attachments, and/or mini-excavator.
Assist in loading trucks and other job preparation activities.
Mobilize to and from project job sites.
DRILL HELPERS
Requires some construction or outdoor labor experience and a high school diploma or equivalency; and the ability to read and write in English, follow verbal instructions, and perform basic mechanical operations.
DRILLERS
Requires some hollow stem auger, geoprobe direct push technology drilling or related drilling experience and a high school diploma or equivalency; the ability to read and write in English, follow verbal instructions, and perform basic mechanical operations.
OSHA Hazwoper (40 hour) certification, Class A CDL drivers license, and/or mechanical or environmental certifications are a plus. Requires the use of a personal or company vehicle on company business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, and have an acceptable driving record. All candidates must have a successful completion of a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and receive a medical clearance from a baseline physical. EFS performs regular, random drug screens on DOT drivers.

Lead Drilling Engineer - Rocky Mountain Business Unit
Established oil and gas exploration and production company is seeking a Lead Drilling Engineer to execute drilling activities for the Rocky Mountain Business Unit. The position will be responsible for planning and leading drilling activity for both vertical and horizontal wells. This position reports directly to the General Manager of Drilling and will supervise drilling engineers, as well as the traditional responsibilities of detailed well planning and analysis including casing design, directional drilling, mud programs, cost estimates and the associated procedures to ensure drilling plans are being accurately and effectively implemented.
Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation and execution of all drilling operations. Conduct operations in accordance with company policy, operating agreements, and all applicable governmental regulations.
Establish clear safety and environmental performance expectations with external and internal personnel. Lead Behavioral Based Safety at the field level.
Ensure lessons learned and best practices are captured and implemented across companys Rocky Mountain rig fleet. Develop synergies and efficiencies of having multiple rig operations in a single basin.
Recognize and focus on opportunities that create the best value. Conduct drilling operations in an efficient manner. Recognize and engage internal and external technical support to resolve operational challenges.
Establish clear expectations for performance and development of personnel (Drilling Engineers and Drilling Techs). Give timely, specific, and meaningful feedback. Encourage others to seek innovative approaches to problem solving.
Effectively interface regularly with Asset, Completions, Land, Regulatory, and Operations personnel to ensure effective planning and scheduling of all new well development activities.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Petroleum Engineering degree preferred.
Knowledge of field operations and a minimum of 8 years of experience in Drilling and Completion Engineering.
Must have deep, complex unconventional drilling experience and/or offshore directional development drilling experience.
Knowledge of well reporting software.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve project related goals.
Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently.
Excellent communication skills to effectively explain planning processes and results of drilling plans throughout the organization from the Board Room to the Rig Floor
